Announcing Conference to Restore Humanity! 2025: Quest for Connection (July 21-23, 2025). In 2025, we’re responding to the need for community and solidarity in uncertain times by turning Conference to Restore Humanity into a model for humanizing critical discourse and dialogue: bringing together students and teachers, researchers and doers, thinkers and visionaries to explore complex topics in education and illuminate a path forward together.

Let's restore humanity, together

Human Restoration Project Australia partners with schools in a collaborative change-making process grounded in self-directed learning theory, where Mastery, Autonomy, and Purpose (MAP) are not just educational buzzwords but lived realities shaped by student voice. We believe that meaningful transformation begins by listening to young people themselves, engaging them as co-designers who inform and guide how schools can support their development of deep competencies, honor their need for agency and choice, and help them connect learning to what truly matters.

Through authentic consultation and practical implementation, we work alongside school communities to create environments where MAP principles come alive, ensuring that every initiative reflects the real experiences, aspirations, and wisdom of the students at the center of it all.

Mastery

Empowering Students to Discover Their Strengths

We create opportunities for young people to develop deep competence in areas they're passionate about, celebrating progress over perfection. Through personalized learning pathways and meaningful feedback, students experience the confidence that comes from genuine skill development.

Autonomy

Giving Students Voice and Choice in Their Learning

We trust young people to make decisions about their education, from project topics to learning methods that work best for them. By honoring student agency and fostering self-direction, we help them become independent thinkers who take ownership of their growth.

Purpose

Connecting Learning to What Matters

We help students discover how their education connects to their values, communities, and the world beyond the classroom. Through real-world projects and meaningful collaboration, young people see themselves as capable contributors who can make a positive difference.

We must not turn our back at the future.

There are many serious threats to our world. We need an education system that humanizes school. Young people need to unlock their full potential, creating a just, equitable society.
